Below you will find two different areas, KS3 & KS4 task. 

Once you have completed your tasks hand it into the Head of Music and gain points towards a fantastic trip to Escape Rooms, Wild Wadi or Ski Dubai.  
Music Stretch & Challenge tasks for all ages
Task 1)
Attend a live music event of your choice. 

  • Analyse and evaluate the performance techniques that the performer used to enhance the experience for the audience. 
  • Create a performance of a piece of music inspired by the event you attended on an instrument of your choice.


Task 2) 
On YouTube, watch a documentary of a music composer of your choice (preferably someone you have not studied!). 

  • Analyse and evaluate the compositional techniques they use to create music. 
  • Create a composition (using either a live instrument or music technology software if you have access to it) which is inspired by them and which utilises their compositional techniques.   

Task 3) 
Listen to a piece of music of your choice, however it must be in a style of music that you don't normally listen to. 

  • Analyse the use of musical elements in the piece and evaluate whether the piece is a good example of the genre you have chosen. 
  • Create a song review giving your own opinion which is evidenced with "musical" justifications.  If you need anything further please let me know!
